POETRY FOR LUNCH
Tusiata Avia is a poet, performer and children’s writer. Her solo show, Wild Dogs Under My Skirt, has toured nationally and internationally. She is the author of two poetry collections.
Ben Brown (NgÄti PÄoa, NgÄti MÄhuta) writes children’s books, non-fiction, short stories for children and adults, and poetry, which has been published in various anthologies and which he enjoys performing.
Doc Drumheller teaches creative writing at the School for Young Writers and edits the literary journal Catalyst. He has worked in award-winning groups for theatre and music and has published seven collections of poetry.
David Eggleton is the Ursula Bethell Writer in Residence at the University of Canterbury for the second half of 2012. He has written six books of poetry, a book of short fiction and a number of non-fiction works. His most recent collection of poems is Time of the Icebergs.
Siobhan Harvey’s works include the poetry collection, Lost Relatives, and a book of literary criticism, Words Chosen Carefully: New Zealand Writers in Discussion. She is the poetry editor of Takahē.
Kerrin Sharpe’s first poetry collection, Three Days in a Wishing Well, is being launched at The Press Christchurch Writers Festival. She teaches at the Hagley Writers Institute.
Karen Zelas is a poet and fiction writer. Her debut poetry collection, Night’s Glass Table, won the 2012 Interactive Press Picks Best First Book competition and is being launched at the festival.
Chair: Bernadette Hall is an internationally published poet. Her collection, The Lustre Jug, was a finalist in the 2010 New Zealand Post Book Awards.
